About The Yu-Wei Wu Laboratory

The Wu Laboratory is in the Institute of Molecular Biology at the Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. Our mission is to understand how neural circuit and glial network adapt and reorganize in motor learning and in the progress of movement disorders (see more in Research). We use advanced two-photon imaging, patch-clamp/microwire array electrophysiology, and genetics techniques to monitor and manipulate neuronal and glial activity in live brain tissues and in vivo. We also develop new methodologies to analyze and interpret large scale neural data. We aim to answer the questions that how and why certain changes in neuronal and glial connectivity/morphology and activity are associated with learning and in disease conditions.

We are well-equipped with state-of-the-art two-photon imaging system and electrophysiology systems. We embrace diversity and encourage a collaborative culture in the lab.
